AN tACHT UM AN SEACHTÚ LEASÚ IS FICHE AR AN mBUNREACHT 2004
ACHT CHUN AN BUNREACHT A LEASÚ

DE BHRÍ gur cead, de bhua Airteagal 46 den Bhunreacht, foráil ar bith den Bhunreacht a leasú ar an modh a shocraítear leis an Airteagal sin:
AGUS DE BHRÍ go bhfuil beartaithe Airteagal 9 den Bhunreacht a leasú:
ACHTAÍTEAR AG AN OIREACHTAS AR AN ÁBHAR SIN MAR A LEANAS:
1. Airteagal 9 den Bhunreacht a leasú
Leasaítear leis seo mar a leanas Airteagal 9 den Bhunreacht:
(a) cuirfear an t-alt a bhfuil an téacs de leagtha amach i gCuid 1 den Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht seo isteach i ndiaidh alt 1 den téacs Gaeilge,
(b) cuirfear an t-alt a bhfuil an téacs de leagtha amach i gCuid 2 den Sceideal a ghabhann leis an Acht seo isteach i ndiaidh alt 1 den téacs Sacs-Bhéarla, agus
(c) déanfar alt 2 den dá théacs a uimhriú mar alt 3.
2. Lua
(1) An Seachtú Leasú is Fiche ar an mBunreacht a thabharfar ar an leasú a dhéantar ar an mBunreacht leis an Acht seo.
(2) Féadfar an tAcht um an Seachtú Leasú is Fiche ar an mBunreacht 2004 a ghairm den Acht seo.
AN SCEIDEAL
Cuid 1
2 1° D'ainneoin aon fhorála eile den Bhunreacht seo, maidir le duine a shaolaítear in oileán na hÉireann, ar a n-áirítear a oileáin agus a fharraigí, agus nach bhfuil aige nó aici, an tráth a shaolaítear an duine sin, tuismitheoir amháin ar a laghad is saoránach d'Éirinn nó atá i dteideal a bheith ina shaoránach nó ina saoránach d'Éirinn, níil teideal ag an duine sin chun saoránacht nó náisiúntacht Éireann, mura ndéanfar socrú ina chomhair sin le dlí.
2° Ní bhainfidh an t-alt seo le daoine a saolaíodh roimh dháta achtaithe an ailt seo.

TWENTY-SEVENTH AMENDMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION ACT 2004
AN ACT TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION
[24th June, 2004]
WHEREAS by virtue of Article 46 of the Constitution any provision of the Constiution may be amended in the manner provided by that Article:
AND WHEREAS it is proposed to amend Article 9 of the Constitution:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Amendment of Article 9 of the Constitution
Article 9 of the Constitution is hereby amended as follows:
(a) the section, the text of which is set out in Part 1 of the Schedule to this Act, shall be inserted after section 1 of the Irish text,
(b) the section, the text of which is set out in Part 2 of the Schedule to this Act, shall be inserted after section 1 of the English text, and
(c) section 2 of both texts shall be numbered as section 3.
2. Citation
(1) The amendment of the Constitution effected by this Act shall be called the Twenty-seventh Amendment of the constitution.
(2) This Act may be cited as the Twenty-seventh Amendment of the Constitution Act 2004.
SCHEDULE
Part 2
2 1° Notwithstanding any other provision of this Constitution, a person born in the island of Ireland, which includes its islands and seas, who does not have, at the time of the birth of that person, at least one parent who is an Irish citizen or entitled to be an Irish citizen is not entitled to Irish citizenship or nationality, unless provided for by law.
2° This section shall not apply to persons born before the date of the enactment of this section.
